Development Engineering

Key to achieving program success, Baymar follows a Product Development Process (PDP) that utilizes a phase gate approach beginning with the project requirements and continuing through into production. This detailed process aligns with the FDA’s guidance for design controls and meets all the requirements to create the documentation necessary for FDA submissions such as 510K and PMA’s. With our comprehensive start-to-finish expertise, Baymar is poised to tackle any individual portion or the entire development process for you.


Baymar Machining started with the purpose of supporting our engineering team with quick-turn prototypes and fixtures for production. Since that time, our small shop has grown into a full production machining facility supplying parts to some of the top medical device and aerospace companies. With several vertical machining centers and multiple shifts, we can support both quick turn prototypes and high quality production parts.

Our engineering team’s experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) coupled with detailed design reviews allows BAYMAR to offer customers more than the typical machine shop can by bringing a comprehensive understanding of the component’s intended use to the final product. This unique element allows us to better serve our customers by producing parts that not only meet print, but also the intended use. Our customers’ success is vital to Baymar’s success and we can deliver unique value to our customers with our foundation in engineering.

Baymar Machining is ITAR Registered and ISO 13485 certified and follows a strict process to ensure quality. The CMM is a critical part of the process and is used to make efficient and extremely accurate measurements to any drawing. The Baymar team is trained and has years of experience both specifying and inspecting to the ASME Y14.5 standard for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
